 Sadhu Thanwardas Lilaram Vaswani was born on November 25, 1879. He founded the Mira Movement and helped set up St. Mira’s School in Hyderabad, Sindh, before moving to Pune in 1949. In 2011, Pune opened the Darshan Museum to share his life and teachings. The Sadhu Vaswani Mission continues to spread his message of compassion and vegetarianism.

November 25 marks the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani, an Indian educationist, spiritual guide and a strong supporter of vegetarian living. The decision of banning meat sale and slaughter was made to mark Sadhu Vaswani Jayanti on Tuesday. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has banned sale and slaughter of meat across Bengaluru on Tuesday. In its order, the authority said that no animal slaughter will be allowed in slaughterhouses on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and meat shops within Greater Bengaluru must remain closed for the day.
